A smart, budget-conscious reboot of a midcentury duplex in the Silver Lake hills, transformed to serve as a warm, functional short-term rental. We focused on simple but effective design decisions—like reworking the layout for better flow, adding built-in plywood furniture for warmth and durability, and using vintage and modern pieces to create a lived-in feel without unnecessary expense. We rebuilt the bathrooms with efficient layouts, layered in plywood and warm tones, and added custom furniture and storage throughout. The result is a light-filled, relaxed space that balances design, comfort, and durability while respecting the budget.
